Les-animaux-du-mondeMagali was born and raised in the south of France and has been living in the United States for 17 years. After a few years spent working in a corporate setting, Magali completed her AMS Montessori Certification in New England and spent two years teaching in a Montessori school in the Boston area. She moved to North Carolina to join our school and is entering her fourth year with us. Though Magali did her Montessori training in English, she was drawn to our language immersion approachand loves teaching in her native language of French. Magali originallybecame interested in Montessori education because of its roots in theindividualization of each child and its approach on teaching Peace andconflict resolution to young children.

Loralie is native of Tennessee who graduated from UNC in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in French.  Having worked in the La Maison classroom for the 2005-2006 school year, she is returning to us after having completed anintensive Master’s Program at Middlebury College. She did all hercourse work in Paris, France where she wrote her thesis on the union ofthe Montessori method and language immersion. She spent many hoursobserving, volunteering and working in several bi-lingual Montessoriprograms both in the US and France. Loralie feels at home in aMontessori environment because she finds comfort in the level ofrespect and individual attention that this pedagogical approach affords.
