Students are considered for admissions only when all steps have been completed. A classroom visit for your child and the meeting with the Head of School are the last two steps in the process. These steps are scheduled after the classroom observation has been done, and the online application, the application fee, the teacher recommendation, and the current school's records have been received by IMS.
While we know this step can be a little challenging to schedule, it is a very important step for both your family and for IMS to determine whether we are a good fit. A child flourishes when there is a strong connection and good communication between their school and their family.
The child's visit gives them a chance to explore the classroom and to meet new friends. It also gives the teachers the opportunity to learn more about your child. The meeting for the parents with the head of school is a time for the adults to get to know each other, share more detailed information specifically in relation to your child, and ask questions of each other that have not previously been addressed. Both parents are expected to attend the meeting with the head of school.
We arrange for the meeting to occur at the same time your child is visiting the classroom. This form allows you to schedule both. If you have any questions or concerns about the process, please contact us at 919-401-4343.
