SUMMER CAMP

Summer Camp

International Montessori School offers summer camp for both current students and other children in the community ages 3 - 5. IMS offers Toddler summer camp to enrolled families only.


We provide an engaging experience with various weekly themes in a familiar environment located near Duke University, Downtown Durham, South Durham, Chapel Hill, and the surrounding areas.

Our summer programming is only offered in English at our Academy Road campus.

Summer Camp Pricing & Schedule

Please note that hours, pricing, and our registration & cancellation policy for 2026 have not yet been released.  Please see our FAQs below for 2025 information.
Programming includes all materials and snacks but does not include lunch.


Week 1: Diggin' with Dinos
June 22 - June 26 

Get ready to stomp, roar, and explore! Campers will travel back in time as we dig into the fascinating world of dinosaurs. Through hands-on activities, games, crafts, and exciting adventures, we’ll uncover ancient discoveries, learn cool dinosaur facts, and have a roaring time. From fossil digs to prehistoric fun, this week is sure to be dino-mite!


Week 2: Seeds & Sunshine

June 29 - July 3

Get your hands dirty and watch the magic grow! Campers will explore the wonders of nature through planting, gardening, and outdoor discovery. We’ll dig into the soil, learn how plants grow, and see how care and patience help things bloom. With nature crafts, activities, and fresh air fun, this week will help campers grow roots, confidence, and a love for the great outdoors!


Week 3: Around the World We Go
July 6 - July 10 

Pack your bags and get ready for a global adventure! Campers will travel the world without leaving camp as they explore different countries, cultures, traditions, and delicious food. Through games, crafts, music, and tasty experiences, kids will learn what makes each place unique and celebrate the diversity of our amazing world. Every day is a new destination and a new adventure!


Week 4: Vroomin'& Zoomin'
July 13 - July 17

Get ready to move, move, move! Campers will learn about fun ways of how we travel: cars, buses, trains, boats, and airplanes. Through songs, movement games, pretend play, and crafts, children will explore how we go from place to place. This week is about wiggling, zooming, and using our imaginations while having tons of fun! 


Week 5: When I Grow Up

July 20 - July 24

Little campers will explore big dreams as they learn about different jobs and helpers in our community! Through stories, games, crafts, and fun activities, children will discover how people work together to help each other every day. It’s a week full of learning, teamwork, and big ideas about the many ways we can make a difference.


Superstar Showcase

Week 6: July 27 - July 31 

This week is all about celebrating each little camper! Through music, movement, stories, and fun activities, children will explore creativity, self- expression, and teamwork. Every camper will have a chance to shine as we sing, dance, and create together. It’s a week full of smiles, laughter, and superstar fun!

    Early Childhood

    Half Day (8:15-12:20) - $260

    Regular Day (8:15-3:00) - $350

    Extended Day (8:15-5:00) - $450


    Toddler (for current IMS families only)

    Half Day (8:15-12:00) - $300

    Regular Day (8:15-3:00) - $400

    Extended Day (8:15-5:00) - $520

  • Hours & Schedule

    • All sessions run Monday through Friday from 8:15AM to 3:00PM. Drop off is 8:00 AM - 8:15 AM. IMS also offers half day and extended day options. The half day option ends at 12:20 and the extended day option ends at 5:00. 
    • Each day includes a morning filled with theme-based group and individual activities, a morning snack, and free-play on our wooded playground. After a lunch from home and nap/rest time, the afternoon closes with more activities and outdoor time.
  • Ages & Requirements

    Early Childhood Camp

    • The early childhood camp is for children 3-5 and is open to children who do not attend IMS.
    • Children joining the early childhood camp must be independent in their toileting, meaning they wear underwear throughout the day, can communicate their need to use the bathroom, and do not need assistance managing clothing or wiping. Diapers and pull-ups are not allowed.

    Toddler Camp

    • Toddler camp is only for children currently in IMS’ toddler program for the current or coming school year. Toddler campers do not need to be independent in their toileting.
  • Registration & Cancellation Policies

    • Camp rosters are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If a week is full, there is a waitlist available.
    • A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration to confirm your spot. The balance of camp is due by May 31st. You may cancel or switch your registered week up until May 31st. 
    • Families enrolled at IMS will be billed and will pay through our tuition management system. Families who are not enrolled for the current or coming school year will be billed directly through our Business Office. 
    • All transaction convenience fees are non-refundable once paid.
